The Planning Policy
Team deal mainly with the local part of the statutory
Development Plan and are currently preparing the Local
Development Framework (
LDF
) which will
replace the Local Plan. They also prepare supplementary planning
documents and promote the implementation of plan
proposals. They make Planning Policy comments on Development
Control Planning Applications.

Information on the new planning system and the production of Havant's Local Development Framework (LDF), currently under review, consisting of Local Development Scheme (LDS), Statement of Community Involvement (SCI), Leigh Park Strategic Framework (SPD) with Sustainability Appraisal, Core Strategy Issues and Options
External link to the Hampshire County Structure Plan Review that sets out policies and major proposals to guide new development, improve the transport system and conserve the natural and built environment. It implements national and regional government policy and in turn provides the framework for the adopted Havant Borough District Wide Local Plan. As part of the new Local Development Framework sytem, the Structure Plan will be superseded by the South East Plan when it is adopted.
