Planning Portal
The
National Planning Portal, is part of the common vision for
improving the planning process in England and Wales. The Planning
Portal provides guidance and information about making planning
applications, as well as resources for study and research.
The main parts of the Planning Portal are:
-
Guide to the Planning Process
The Guide section provides a brief introduction to the planning
system and some explanation of why planning controls are important
and necessary. It includes general guidance about the kinds of work
for which you need to apply for planning permission and those for
which you do not. It is intended for both householders and business
people.
- Apply
From 6th April 2008, the National Standard Planning
Application Form (1APP) has replaced all existing types of
planning application forms in England and is now the only
legal way of submitting a planning application. As such, Havant
Borough Council now supports applications, and fee
payments, submitted electronically using the portal. If you
wish you can also create electronic applications for Havant Borough
Council and then print your forms and submit them by post. To use
this service you will need to register with the Planning Portal and
create a User Name and Password. You can also use the Portal's
on-line applications service to purchase a site location plan to
accompany your application. Accompanying documents can be
attached to online planning applications.
-
Appeal
The Appeals section provides information and guidance on the
Appeals process. If you seek permission to carry out works to your
property and your application isn't decided within a set period, or
you get a decision from your local council that you disagree with,
you have a right to appeal.
-
Study
The Study section is designed to help people to teach or learn
about town and country planning. It is a useful resource for
teachers and students of Planning and those considering or pursuing
a career in town and country planning.
-
Research
The Research section of the Portal is aimed at planning
professionals and those with an in-depth interest in planning
policy and reform. You can obtain information on many issues
including the Government's Planning Reform Programme, Parliamentary
answers and statements on planning matters and you can view copies
of Planning Policy
