Comment on Planning Proposals

Anyone can object to, support or comment on a planning application. We welcome views of the public and will take relevant land use and planning considerations into account in reaching a decision on an application.

 

To make a comment you can Fill out the on-line comment form  Please remember to include your postal address on the form.

Please make sure that your letter includes the following information:

 (* we must have this information in order to take your comments into account).

 

Please note that no action can be taken on letters that are sent in confidence.

 

You must send your comments as soon as possible as the Government have set a time limit for the receipt of comments to enable applications to be decided as quickly as possible. If you do send us comments we will send you a notification of the outcome of the decision.

 

From April 2012 we will no longer acknowledge receipt of comments but you will be able to check that your comments have been received by looking at the  application on line using the following link;

Under the provisions of the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985, any written comments that you submit will be made available for both inspection and copying. They will also be copied to the Planning Inspectorate in the event of an appeal.

 

From April 2012 we will publish all comments received on our website. We will take all reasonable steps to remove personal (but not business) information such as telephone numbers, email addresses and signatures before publication. We acknowledge that information security is a key concern and that in responding you signify consent to having your comments published on our website subject to the removal of personal data. At all times the Council shall process your data fairly and lawfully and for the purposes of which it was obtained, in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and its principles. You should therefore only include information that you are happy to be seen by the public and available over the internet.
