Planning and Development Services at Havant Borough Council is delivered by Building Control, Development Control, Land Charges and Planning Policy.

Development Control

The Development Control Team deals with all aspects of planning applications including advice about the need for planning permissions and to those seeking to make a planning application.

Building Control

The Building Control team ensures that buildings and structures conform to all building regulations, associated legislation and codes of practice in terms of their construction and materials and that they have adequate fire precautions and access arrangements.

Land Charges

Local Land Charges deal with property searches submitted in connection with conveyancing matters and are also responsible for maintaining the Local Land Charges Register.

A reception service is available at the Customer Services Centre in the Public Service Plaza,for all basic building control, planning policy and development control enquiries. An appointment should be made prior to visiting the offices if you wish to speak to the case officer dealing with a current application or if you wish to seek planning advice prior to submitting an application. If you wish to research specific property history you should contact Planning and Development Services in advance to ensure all the information you require will be available.
