Havant Borough Council and the South
East England Development Agency have been successfully working
together on projects to create more jobs and bring about a better
social and physical environment in Havant Borough. This work
hasunderpinned the vision and objectives in Havants current
Community Strategy
Creating a Better Future.
We are now at a critical point of
review and revision. A new
Local Plan has been prepared which will set
the framework for development in the Borough until 2011.In 2004, a
new Community Strategy will be prepared by the Local Strategic
Partnership. A new Area Investment Framework, agreed with SEEDA,
will guide the next round of government regeneration funding.
This vision document will help us
focus on the kind of Borough that we want in the future. It
attempts to answer the questions of what could Havant be, and what
is stopping it from happening? In preparation for a new
Regeneration Strategy and involvement in the AIF, we wanted to
ensure that we had a clear vision of where to take the
Borough.
I hope that you will find this
document stimulating, and that you will engage with us
in further discussions on how to
translate the vision into reality.
