An Independent Remuneration Panel
reviews Councillors' Allowances at least every four years.
The most recent review was carried out in 2007 and implemented
on 1 April 2008.
The current rates of
allowances are:-

| Payable for some external meetings and
conferences, outside the Borough at reasonable costs on production
of receipt. |

Child Care and Dependants' Carers' Allowances:-

Payable up to 8 hours or two approved duties if less in any one
week for:
|
|
|
a) child care - at the relevant national minimum wage applicable
to the age for the carer.
|
|
|
b) elderly and/or disabled dependants - at the hourly rate
chargeable by Hampshire County Council Adult Services for provision
of a Home Care Assistant up to a maximum of £10.00 per hour.
