The council has joined Stagecoach
Coastline and Hampshire County Council is delivering a Quality
Partnership for the development of Route 23 Leigh Park - Havant -
Portsmouth. This is the first of a series of Quality Partnerships
aimed at major transport corridors in the Borough seeking to make
public transport a realistic alternative to the private car by
improving vehicles, frequencies and facilities.

The infrastructure provided under
the Agreement (bus stops, shelters, raised kerbs etc) were 'Highly
Commended' in the 2002 Bus Industry Awards. Buses run every 10
minutes Mondays - Saturdays and resulted in a 30% increase in
passenger numbers over the first two years of
the Agreement.
