How the Design Award Scheme operates
The award is made for the best example
completed during the preceding three
calendar years and consists of a commemorative plaque for
display on the building or site and certificates that are
presented to the owner, designer and builder. The architect
receives a trophy. Certificates are also awarded to the runners
up.
Entries may be submitted by owners, agents,
local residents' associations, amenity
groups or individuals. Projects can include new buildings,
extensions to existing buildings, conservation or restoration
works, landscaping (urban or rural), shop fronts and even
statues.
You can nominate any building or structure. You don't need to
be the owner or architect. The only criteria are that it must be in
Havant Borough and it must have been completed within the last
three years.
The Awards aim to acknowledge and reward good design and build
quality. Anything can be nominated, from urban to rural,
commercial, residential or leisure use. If, like us, you feel that
Havant Borough deserves nothing less than the best for the built
environment and if you know of a building that has that extra
special something and deserves recognition, let us know.
