Havant Borough Council is committed to
promoting social inclusion and tackling disadvantage. We also
realise that we cannot do this on our own and that partnership
working is key in responding to needs. We are in the process
of developing a community development plan, which will address
areas of disadvantage and identify preventative initiatives in
order to combat social exclusion and increase community
involvement.
Anti-poverty initiatives are
delivered through the Community Development Team, in partnership
with many other teams in the Council. The Council is
committed to reducing poverty in the Borough, through promoting the
take up of benefits, reducing debt by supporting agencies such as
the Citizen's Advice Burueax and promoting affordable credit
and banking solutions.
Please call 0845 389 9494 to book an appointment. There is
a surgery held at the Havant Civic Offices.
The Citizens Advice service helps
people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing
free information and advice. All Citizens Advice Bureaux in
England, Wales and Northern Ireland are members of Citizens Advice,
the national charity which sets standards for advice and equal
opportunities and supports bureaux with an information system,
training and other services. There are two branches locally, one in
Waterlooville and one in Leigh Park. The contact details are
