Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)
Havant & District CAB (external
website) >>
The Citizens Advice service helps people resolve their legal,
money and other problems by providing free, independent and
confidential advice, and by influencing policymakers. Every
Citizens Advice Bureau is a registered charity reliant on trained
volunteers and funds to provide these vital services for local
communities. Havant CAB is based at Leigh Park Community Centre
and, last year, the district helped over 4,000 people with
debt, employment, housing and numerous other issues. Advisers
can help fill out forms, write letters and negotiate with
creditors.
The CAB is:
- Independent – we will always act in the
interests of our clients, without influence from any outside
bodies
- Impartial – we don’t judge our clients or
make assumptions about them. Our service is open to everyone, and
we treat everyone equally
- Confidential – we won’t pass on anything a
client tells us – or even the fact that they’ve visited us –
without their permission
- Free – no-one has to pay for any part of the
service we provide
Many bureaux now have a short introductory
interview to help decide how you can be best advised. Follow-on
appointments may be necessary.
