What is your
adopted Statutory Development Plan and when was it
adopted?
The Havant Borough District-Wide Local Plan (
HBDWLP) was
adopted on 30 September 2005. However, due to implications of the
Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 this plan was only valid
until the 30th September 2008 (the point at which it would be 3
years old). Government protocol allowed for certain policies to be
saved for continued use beyond the end of September 2008. Therefore
the local planning policy framework is now the
'Saved Policies from the
HBDWLP'
Can I see the Adopted Local Plan and Proposals Maps on the web
site?
Yes, we have an
Interactive version of the Adopted Plan
where you can select any area of the Proposals Map and find
information about the policies/proposals that relate to that area.
The written content of the Plan comprises a
Written
Statement document that is also available here. The
Written Statement has been updated to reflect the fact that only
saved policies are now relevant.
Can I purchase a copy of
the adopted Havant Borough District-Wide Local
Plan
The printed
HBDWLP
is
available to purchase for £35.00 + £5.45 p&p by sending a
cheque made payable to Havant Borough Council to the Planning
Policy and Urban Design Team above. The plan will also be
accompanied with a list of saved policies so that it is clear
which policies are still relevant. Credit card payments are
accepted through Customer Services on 023 9244 6051. The price of
this document had been reduced to reflect the fact that the
full document no longer applies due to the switch to saved
policies.
What associated Local
Plan documents are available to me and how can I get hold of
them?
How do the Saved
Policies from the Havant Borough District-Wide Local Plan fit into
the reform of the planning system?
The Havant Borough District-Wide Local Plan, adopted September
2005, was saved under the reform of the planning system
(Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act) and retained
with development plan status for three years after adoption.
After the 30th September 2008 only certain 'saved policies from the
HBDWLP
' are still
relevant. The
list of saved policies is available.
Under the new system local plans will be replaced by Local
Development Frameworks. These Frameworks will comprise of a series
of Local Development Documents, some of which would have
development plan status and be subject to independent
examination.
