The Housing Services Team
The Housing Service is an
essential part of Havant Council, and makes an important
contribution to the Borough's quality of life. The Service has
strong links with many organisations which make a contribution to
housing. The Council transferred it's housing stock to
Hermitage Housing Association in 1994, now known as Guinness
Hermitage. The Council has supported a development
programme which has produced over 1500 new housing association
homes in the last 15 years, working in partnership with numerous
Housing Associations.
The Housing Service Team can
also offer advice and assistance to all including:
- A drop in housing advice service (opening times given
below)
- Housing options interviews with a Housing
Officer
- Help with applying for social housing
- Homelessness assessments and the provision of temporary
accommodation
- Help with securing private rented accommodation through
the Supported Tenancy Scheme
- Mediation to help resolve landlord / tenant disputes
- Assistance in avioding repossession in Court
actions
- Advice for owner occupiers who may be facing financial
difficulties
- Signposting to Support Services in the local area
- Delivery of new affordable housing through the Council's
enabling capabilities
- Delivery of the Council's Homelessness Strategy
- Delivery of the Council's Allocations Policy
