Saved Policies from the Havant Borough District-Wide Local Plan

The Havant Borough District Wide Local Plan was adopted on the 30th September 2005 but as a result of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 it was only able to be used for 3 years after its adoption. As that 3 year period expired on the 30th September 2008 the 'Saved Policies from the Havant Borough District Wide Local Plan' now forms the local planning policy framework.

Many policies from the old HBDWLP have been saved for continued use and in time these policies will be superseded or replaced by Local Development Framework documents. Policies that have not been saved are in most cases covered by national planning guidance. Therefore the fact a previous HBDWLP policy no longer applies should not be an indication that the issues are no longer relevant as they may be addressed by national planning policy.

list of the 'saved' policies will be kept up-to-date on the Council's website.
