Denmead
Just on the outskirts of Waterlooville, a visit to Denmead
gives a taste of rural village life. Buses 45 / 45A from
Waterlooville.
Fishbourne Roman Palace
A very interesting and enjoyable day
out discovering how the Romans lived within this area. The palace
has exquisite mosaic floors, which will remain in your memory for a
very long time. This is a must, for anyone interested in history.

Horndean
The Queen Elizabeth Country Park is located about three miles
north of Horndean. Buses 37 and 41 from Waterlooville take you
into the historic village centre.
Rowlands Castle
The stately home of Stansted is located at Rowlands Castle, as
is a fine example of a village green. Stansted House includes a
popular garden centre. Regular trains or bus 27 from
Havant.
Hambledon
A walkers dream; Hambledon is a picturesque village in a quiet
rural setting. Bus 45 from Waterlooville.
Portsmouth
Rich in maritime history, this Naval City boasts many major
attractions including the Mary Rose, HMS Victory and HMS Warrior
1860. The newest atrraction is the

Portchester
Rich in history with a coastal Roman Castle and 3rd Century
Fort to explore. Bus 63 or regular trains from Havant.
Gosport
Bosham
An attractive waterside village with connections to King
Canute (Knut) and a well regarded craft centre - it's here that he
tried to stop the tide coming in. Bus 700 or regular trains from
Havant to the top of the village.
Chidham
For quiet coastal walks the peaceful hamlet of Chidham is
ideal.
Thorney Island
Owned by the Ministry of Defence, this beautiful untamed
island is home to Brent Geese as well as soldiers. Access to the
island is by a security gate, where you have to give your name and
address before entering. Please keep to the set footpath, because
although you are most welcome, breaches in security are severely
dealt with! The island can also be closed without warning. Bus 11
from Emsworth.
Portsmouth Continental Ferryport
Currently ferries leave for five continental destinations from
the Portsmouth Ferryport (Cherbourg-Octeville, Caen, Le Havre, St.
Malo and Santander) as well as to Guernsey and Jersey in the
Channel Islands. Crossing times vary from just three hours for the
fast ferry to Cherbourg-Octeville to 24 hours to Santander. The
on-board entertainment and facilities more than make up for any
time lost travelling and many visitors take up the day trip or
short break packages just for the on-board experience! Regular
buses from Havant on routes 20 and 700.
Chichester
The cathedral city of Chichester is splendid for a day out;
with its fine shops and eating houses and a wealth of interesting
attractions. Bus 700 or regular trains from Havant.
