Development Control

Development Control is the process which regulates the development and use of land. It involves the consideration of planning applications, the monitoring of development as it takes place, enforcement action where breaches of control have occurred and the provision of information and advice about the system generally and individual proposals specifically. In Havant some 1,500 planning permissions are dealt with annually. It is also a service to local communities. The Council welcomes the opportunity to give advice and discuss applications before they are made. Copies of the Council's planning policies, a charter of service and other relevant documents are available from the ground floor reception.
