Next Steps and the Local Development
Framework
The consultation responses have provided the
council with valuable information in relation to the regeneration
of Hayling Island specifically in respect of the areas set out in
the Masterplan.
The level of response from the public and
other consultees was such that the ideas set out in the Hayling
Seafront Masterplan were revised and considered for inclusion as a
strategic site in the Core Strategy. However due to issues
regarding deliverability the council were unable to include it as
such. Core Strategy Policy CS6: Regeneration of the
Borough supports the physical regeneration of the area. The
Core Strategy can be viewed here.
The Development Delivery (Allocations) Plan Document (
DPD) will identify sites for specific uses including, housing,
employment, retail, recreation and infrastructure over the next 20
years. Consultation on the Draft document is anticipated late
