On February 18th 2010, Havant Borough Council and Havant Council of Community Services hosted a Funding Information Day for local Voluntary and Community groups, at Springwood Community Centre near Waterlooville.
Over 50 people attended representing a variety of groups, mainly from the Havant area, who heard presentations on a number of different funding streams. There was plenty of time to chat over lunch and many of the groups left with lots of ideas and plans to secure funding for new projects which will make a difference in their community.
This is the first time such an event has been organised, and provided a rare opportunity to speak with funders face to face before submitting an application. Staff from the following organsiations were present, and were really pleased with the ideas coming forward:
