Community and Voluntary Sector - Funding Information Day
February 2010
On February 18th 2010, Havant Borough Council and Havant Council
of Community Services hosted a Funding Information Day for local
Voluntary and Community groups, at Springwood Community Centre near
Waterlooville.
Over 50 people attended representing a variety of groups, mainly
from the Havant area, who heard presentations on a number of
different funding streams. There was plenty of time to chat over
lunch and many of the groups left with lots of ideas and plans
to secure funding for new projects which will make a
difference in their community.
This is the first time such an event has been organised, and
provided a rare opportunity to speak with funders face to face
before submitting an application. Staff from the following
organsiations were present, and were really pleased with the ideas
coming forward:
- Grassroots Grants (distributed locally through Hampshire and
Isle of Wight Community Foundation)
- Comic Relief
- Hampshire County Council Adult Services
- Heritage Lottery Fund
- Big Lottery
Detailed information on which groups were elligible and the
types of projects funded was shared, as well as a discussion about
the application and decision processes. Several of the
presentations given on the day are available to download here:
