Celebrating 10 years of blue flag status on Hayling
Island!
Hayling Island has been awarded the prestigious blue flag
status for the 10th year running.
The stretch of beach from the fun fair to the border of the golf
course has been awarded the flag by the Keep Britain Tidy campaign.
The award recognises clean and safe stretches of coastline that
promote environmental education and offer excellent visitor
facilities.
To celebrate the achievement, Havant Borough Council is hosting
a community event on Saturday 14th August 10:00am to 2:00pm.
There will be a themed walk along the sea front and a variety of
attractions and information stands focusing on health and physical
activity. So why not come along and join in the fun and don't
forget to wear something
blue!
Times of the walks are:
11:00am - Short walk ideal for buggies and wheelchairs
12:00pm - Longer walk along the beach
Directions to the event: Take Manor road all
the way down to the seafront on Hayling Island and when you
reach Funland Amusement Park turn right at the roundabout and
you will see the event on your right! Parking is next to the event
in a public pay and display car park.
The postcode nearest to the event is PO11 0AG (Tourist
Information Centre)
