There is much more information available on-line including such sites as www.ifishoulddie.co.uk (external link) which offer help and advice including numbers of contacts for charities who may be able to help.
You may qualify for financial help. A booklet “What to do after a death in England and Wales” is available from your social security office, the Registrar, or your local Funeral Director. This is a very useful booklet, but please note that any claim you may be entitled to should be applied for within three months of the funeral.
